Our History
Tamagusuku Ryu Senjukai Frances Nakachi Ryubu Dojo, is an Okinawan Dance Academy in Hawaii which was established in 1987 by Frances Nakachi Kuba Sensei. Their mission is “Heartfelt Artistry.” Promoting, Preserving and perpetuating their rich Okinawan culture through the Heartfelt Artistry.
Their Goals is to Promote positive change and wellness in the community through the Okinawan culture and art. Through their heartfelt artistry, they strive to enrich lives, inspire hope and bring joy to the community one dance at a time.. Mission
Tamagusuku Ryu Senju Kai’s mission is to spread peace, joy and love through the heartfelt artistry of Okinawa’s Dance Arts to the world, one dance at a time.
Events
Cultural Fusion
Cultural Fusion will be an evening filled with cultural music and dance, interviews and experiences of Sensei and the students. You can enjoy the special menu of Okinawan and Hawaiian fusion cuisine and beverages from different local restaurants. Guests can enjoy early holiday gifts by purchasing gift baskets, kimono items etc.
Funds raised supports students in their participation in the konkuru (certification) program in Okinawa. It’s purpose is to certify students at various levels in dance. Senju Kai continues to send students to Okinawa each year for training and konkuru so they may become teachers and continue sharing their craft for generations to come.

Since 1997, the dance academy has proudly preserve and perpetuated Okinawan culture and dance to enrich lives, inspire hope and bring joy and happiness to the community. We strive to cultivate and nurture individual talents and potetials, bridge communities, and build everlasting friendships while growing our dance family. Okinawa culture and arts are rich in history and tradition. Stories are told through music and dance and they are passed down from generations to generations. As we pursue our efforts in sharing the gift of dance and preserving the cultural legacy of Okinawan dance, we welcome you to contact us for Okinawan cultural performance or join us in class.
