Aloha and mahalo nui loa for the opportunity to serve as President of the United Japanese Society of Hawai’i. I am deeply honored to follow in the footsteps of dedicated leaders who have nurtured and strengthened our community over the past 68 years. My sincere appreciation goes to our Board of Directors, member organizations, and volunteers whose commitment continues to sustain the spirit of UJSH.
Our theme for this year, “つながり、ひろがり、未来へ” (Connecting, Expanding, Toward the Future), reflects our shared kuleana to honor our heritage while embracing new opportunities for growth. “Tsunagari” reminds us of the importance of meaningful relationships across generations, cultures, and communities. “Hirogari” calls us to expand our reach, welcoming new voices and ideas. And “Mirai e” inspires us to look ahead with intention, ensuring a thriving future for those who follow.
Together, let us celebrate our traditions, support one another, and create spaces where our culture continues to flourish. By working collaboratively, we can strengthen our connections and build a legacy that endures.
Yoroshiku onegaishimasu. I look forward to a year of unity, growth, and shared purpose!
Mahalo,
Lynn Araki-Regan
