39th Annual Obon Houyo Memorial Service

Members of Hawaii’s Japanese community and Buddhist leaders will gather on July 14th at Makiki Cemetery for the United Japanese Society of Hawaii Obon Houyo memorial service.

The service begins at 9:00 AM and will conclude around 9:30 AM at Makiki Cemetery. It will be co-officiated by Bishop Kenjun Kawawata of Higashi Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii and Bishop Toshiyuki Umitani of Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii.
